btw - The alarm higher up can merely be activated universally, which shouldn't be a trouble as there are many files/folders

that are not Read Only that y'all could sorely miss if you accidentally deleted them and emptied the BIN presently subsequently

(witness a post from someone who's resume went missing final week ).

- Any file that gets accessed regularly past a software that installs that file, and which needs to be changed for whatsoever reason

by that software, is not Read Only.

I simply want to know if there'southward a setting for admins to preclude them from deleting read-only files but yet have the ability to change the properties of such.

I accept a NAS and it's not like the recycle bin in windows where yous tin sort past date deleted. They are sent to the NAS #recycle bin instead with no mode of knowing what has been deleted when.

I think the behavior you lot want tin't be obtained by attributes alone. I think y'all need to modify permissions on the files to deny Administrators 'Delete' permission.

Can this be washed system wide and not on a per file basis. Can I not deny the admin account this somewhere?

Cheers.
