The park is close to Manchester TN and the interstate, only feels very isolated. They closed the erstwhile span access and thus y'all enter the campground on a new road about a 1/2 mile away. This isolates you from the main park just you tin all the same walk over the old truss span. The ancient site is very magical and the history is both inspiring and sad. The biggest caveat is that the campground is in a lowland areas and is very densely forested with immature trees and so the footing remains wet after significant rains. We did non take bug issues but I could run across this as an issue. The bathhouse is renovated only there are only 2 showers each for the entire campground. When full at fifty sites this might be an issue. We camped mid week and only a few folks were here. This park is well worth a visit but we will come in fall when things are drier

Nosotros arrived later a rainy afternoon to a site with mud surrounding it and big puddles. Our picnic tabular array is on the left side of the trailer, inaccessible through the mud. The pads are paved but very narrow, leaving but a ally walkway. Some sites have an pad that ties to picnic tabular array pad behind information technology. Overnice park with contempo renovations. Campground entrance is now off Country Club Drive. The one lane bridge is airtight. Park is kinda tight for our 36' class a, and an evening inflow of a bumper pull trailer had them working pretty hard. For that reason, nosotros won't be back here - in that location are other state parks nearby with more than room. CG is full on weekends, even in November! In that location are areas of dirt piles from the renovation on some sites, and at present they are hiding nether the leaves. :) New ability posts and water connections, no issues at that place. Some sites are not level, so be sure to check the site details before online reservation. There were plenty of choices when nosotros checked, so we merely drove in. Check in was at the museum on the other side of the river. Pleasant procedure with Sarah there. TN state parks give 25% discount for seniors, regardless of residency.

You can hear road dissonance, but that is to be expected since the park is adjacent to a main road right in the metropolis of Manchester. Kids loved it, the whole family unit had fun!

Site 19 is right at the head of a trail .... 18 would be better ! Correct at present the electrical service is sporadic. We had made reservations for 3 nights just but stayed 2. We had hopes that afterwards the start night of power spikes and outages would be better but later the second night of interrupted sleep and refrigerator on/off we left early on. This winter season they are supposed to exist getting a complete renovation of the park, sites, electrical, bath houses etc.... The Ranger/ Park Manager was very understanding and refunded our 3rd dark. Subsequently side by side spring , or when they reopen, it could be a great identify to be. It has smashing potential. The natural beauty is wonderful, copse, waterfalls, river etc.... merely the amenities need the updating. If yous don't demand electricity
( tenting) and don't listen battered bathhouse facilities at present is nevertheless a great time to campsite in that location.
The landscaping is well maintained. Beautiful natural resource.

We didn't realize it was Spring Suspension in Tennessee, but that explained why the park was and so total in the heart of the calendar week. Other than that the park was nice. There had been a lot of pelting and some of the sites were unusable due to flooding. We also encountered some dirty trails, but enjoyed them just the same. As stated in other reviews you lot check in at the Visitor middle and then bulldoze dorsum to the camp sites. Site was level and wooded. Merely beyond from the rest room/bath house. The bath house was quondam and some what make clean. Some of the wooden benches in shower expanse had mold growing.
Overall nosotros enjoyed our one nighttime stay. Cell service was ok, no satellite bachelor.

Campsites were all in all pretty nice. Only downside was yous accept to be careful and make certain you don't book a site that floods. They have a couple that seemed to stay under water the whole time we was there.

We didn't spend a lot of time here every bit we were passing through, merely this seems to be a really nice state park not too far off the highway if you lot're passing through. We arrived late in the evening (effectually 9pm) and the campground staff were there to assistance the states. It rained when we stayed, so we didn't see a lot, merely our army camp was right on the river. We woke up to a cute young deer sleeping most our campsite nether a tree. When you enter, you lot cross a cool old steel bridge across the river. We'd like to come back and spend more fourth dimension here, as it looks like an interesting spot.

We just stayed here one night. The waterfalls in the area are absolutely beautiful and at that place is an amazing bridge you have to cross to get to the campsite!
We but had 30amp hookups (which we blew on our nineteen degree night with all of our heaters running) but the breaker box is on the contrary side of the water. We had to stride over our power chord to get to the campfire every fourth dimension, which could be dangerous. The bathrooms were pretty dirty, but it was the expressionless of winter.
If you're looking for a identify to hike, come across some waterfalls and accept your pets out, this is a great identify. There were dogs everywhere.
It's also within walking distance of the residence in the expanse, so you encounter a lot of locals there.
The hookups are the only thing I would really fuss most. The sites were pretty narrow, but the amount of space you have to spread out is huge and there is even a spot to set up up a tent.
